Inter College Hackethon

India, a nation projected to drive the global production in span of 10 years, is facing many issues and computer science and IOT serves as the o to solution for many of these issues. Our hackathon looks to harness the power of amazing developers and the world of open source to develop state of the art to few problems. Our hackathon aligns with the mission and vision of Make in india and prime minister's Digital India Campaign. The hackers will be required to present a viable prototype of the solution they are building.

PROBLEM STATEMENTS

In the past years we have seen outburst of many deadly diseases. Our society as of now is lacking a way to predict such diseases. Recently outburst of corona virus is also a major problem. So help the society and design a ML based solution that can predict the regions with most probability to be affected in coming days on the basis of current spread of a disease in region, cases in reported in a particular region, weather, transport system and people travelling to major regions from the infected area etc.
Build a background verification service which will take candidate’s resume and a list of social profiles like GitHub, LinkedIn, Facebook, Stack overflow etc. as its input and verify the resume’s claims based on the social data available and give the candidate a score between 0–100.
Design a forest fire predictive modeling. fire is perceived as an avoidable hazard and can be dealt with proper suppression methods or prior prediction. On recording the dates, weekday, month, coordinates and burnt areas as well as meteorological information such as humidity, rain, temperature and wind of each fire Incident, the prediction of burnt area is done. Such datasets of different regions can make it easier to control damage to a great extent. Different data mining techniques can help in prediction of forest fires using satellite data. The techniques can be improved by enhancing the input data layers and by including statistical modeling as well as machine learning methods for building beside the knowledge of the domain.
Make a mobile application that can compare the fares of all online cab booking platforms for given source and destination. Ex: If I need to go somewhere and have to book a cab, then that app can show me the comparative fares of all available cab service providers likes OLA , Uber etc.
Design a barter system based platform where people can get there things evaluated to equivalent online currency and can use things as medium of Exchange. Everyone will get an estimate of how much there thing is worth so they can bargain, maintain a track of their profits/losses in a particular deal. Also add a reward based system to encourage customers.
More than 3 lac crimes against women are registered each year in our country. There has been a sharp increase in reported sexual assaults in the last decade itself. This is a major setback for our society and the welfare of women, and it is the need of the hour to curb such a mentality. Research on the statistics and design a solution to tackle this issue in the urban areas of the country, such that crimes can be prevented and help can be dispatched to the people in need, in time.
